Why Online Therapy?

Offering virtual therapy to clients in North or South Carolina…

Woman Using Computir While Drinking FRom a Cup of CoffeeThere are LOTS of pros to online therapy.

It’s more personal.

I can connect to you more deeply by seeing your home environment. I can even meet your furry friends!

It’s more accessible.

If you live in a rural area or have physical limitations that keep you from commuting to an office, online therapy breaks down those barriers.

It’s more convenient.

You don’t have to waste time or deal with the hassle of driving to and from an office, finding parking, or making your way through a new building.

It’s more flexible.

You can also schedule your therapy during lunch breaks, between appointments, or while traveling in the Carolinas.

It’s more affordable.

It’s generally less expensive than an in-person visit because rent, utilities, and other office overhead expenses aren’t passed on to you.

It’s more approachable.

If you’re hesitant to seek help, you may have an easier time doing so virtually. You won’t have to worry about running into someone you know in a waiting room.

It’s more comfortable.

Do you ever have those days where you don’t feel like getting gussied up to go out? Now, you don’t have to! You can do therapy on your comfy couch while wearing baggy sweats or your favorite pajamas.

Research has found that online therapy can effectively treat various ailments, such as trauma, depression, and anxiety.

One study examined CBT, a therapy exploring the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, where participants were treated just as effectively via online therapy.

Online EMDR is becoming more popular, and many practitioners provide this service via telehealth. EMDR has been heavily researched and is shown to be effective at treating PTSD and other trauma-related disorders. I can provide more information on these research studies upon request.

When we meet online, we’ll use HIPAA-compliant software, meaning your confidential information will remain secure.

A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a stable connection is required for online therapy.

If you use a smartphone or tablet, you will need to download the HIPPAA-compliant app, which I will provide access to before our initial session.

Some space considerations. Having a personal space while you participate in online therapy is always beneficial – a space free of distractions from others, animals, or things that will take away from our time together.

Take the leap of faith and commit to bettering yourself and your life.

Online therapy is a great resource for many to overcome challenges, hurts, and parts of them they want to change.
